Yoga has been a transformative force in my life. It has helped me through tough times, taught me patience and keeps me physically fit and sane!


I took my first yoga class in the summer of 1990 at the University of Hawaii. My girlfriends and I took the class as a bit of a joke as we didn’t want to work too hard that summer. Fortunately, I did take that class and yoga really resonated with me. I dabbled in practice on my own and with yoga videos for the next ten years. I was lucky enough to have a friend who helped me get involved with a work/study program at The New Orleans Yoga Center. This gave me the opportunity to commit to practicing 3-days per week with my fabulous teacher, Sean Johnson, and then there was no turning back!


I met Philip Clift upon moving here in 2002 , began my Knoxville yoga journey under his tutelage and started teaching soon thereafter. I draw my inspiration from a blend of the essential aspects of Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Forrest, Iyengar, and Yin Yoga practices. I strive to make my classes welcoming, challenging and safe.


My teachers include Sean Johnson, Philip Clift, Doug Swenson, David Swenson, Stephanie Keach, Heather Tiddens, Sadie Nardini and my son, Max. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 200 hour level though Yoga Alliance.

It is my goal as a teacher to encourage you to find the therapeutic benefits of your practice, be it vigorous or more passive, so that it may be a life long endeavor.
